LP 40/2020 IG Launching Online COVID-19 Tracker

With the COVID-19 threatening the global community, countries and ports have taken tough measures to prevent its further spread, impacting the entire maritime industry on different levels. To assist shipowners, charterers, operators and other parties in the sector to track county and port specific information, the International Group has launched a publicly accessible online tool – the COVID-19 Information Dashboard. It will keep industry updated on COVID-19 restrictions and help identify commercial risks.

The tool sources data from all 13 IG Clubs, the IMO, WHO, JHU, CDC, ECDC, NHC, Wihelmsen Ship Service, state and national government health departments and other leading sources. It provides the up-to-date number of infections, deaths and recoveries in the whole world and in different countries/regions, as well as the protection and control measures taken by port authorities. The tool also assists ships with chartering, operations and offers advice for changing crews. It can be accessed through the following links: 👇

Apart from the above information provided by the IG, the Association has also been working with correspondents to update restrictions imposed by ports and countries around the world. Members are welcomed to approach us for latest information support.

With regard to entering/exiting China, the National Immigration Administration has provided a search tool on its website for inbound/outbound information through domestic and international air and cruise terminals. Access is available here: 👇

Ctrip has also put together the restrictions on tourists entering China and other countries, which can be found here: 👇

Note that the IG COVID-19 Dashboard, the JHU COVID-19 Map, and any other online tool of such kind are not official statements but synthesis of information. It is reiterated in T&Cs that liability for any damage or loss arising from reliance on such websites cannot be accepted. Any information provided by third party websites or correspondents is for Members’ reference only and the information provided by government authorities or designated agents should prevail.
